Voting is finally open for the Koufax awards. Our Word has been nominated for Best New Blog, Bayprairie's Reproductive Rights in Review has been nominated for Best Series, caliliberal has nominations for Best Writing and Best Commenter, and one of my posts, Monday Afternoon at the Welfare Office, has been nominated for best post.

Go over to Wampum and give us all some love, folks.

Kactus, congratulations on being a nominee. Your post was so potent and so necessary. It took us to an issue that sometimes gets lost amongst so many others.

Bayprairie's Reproductive Week in Review was nominated for best blog series. I was hoping moiv's work would be nominated also but I posted my vote for Bayprairie enthusiastically and proudly.

I'll toot my own horn here and say I was shocked to have been nominated for Best Writing and Best commenter. They were both in conjunction with My Left Wing but what is particularly gratifying is that women's voices and women's rights are being heard and being paid attention to.

Brava to you and to this wonderful site. It fills the heart with gratitude.

I'm sorry I missed Bayprairie's nomination--it was NOT intentional. And congratulations for your own nominations--in fact I'm going to add both of you to my original post. I didn't even know I was nominated until I was looking at the list to see who else was nominated.

I'm planning on submitting moiv's article "God Forbid" for next year's nominations; it is hands-down one of the best blog posts I've read recently and really deserving of more recognition. We're really blessed here to have so many good women writing.

Kactus, moiv's God Forbid deserves to win next year. I think she should be nominated in the best series category also and for best writer and best commenter and for the hardest worker for women's abortion rights and for being so commited. Oh right, those last two aren't categories but you get my drift.

I found out about my nominations the same way. At first I thought someone had snuck into my computer and planted a practical joke. I'm still shocked really, don't quite get it frankly, but am very grateful.

This love affair with being a woman and with the women we are surrounded with is never going to end. Brava to us every single day.

just reading about me. Especially after that all-nighter I pulled sneaking into your computer. :-)

And I vote for all of us.

You were definitely on my short list of usual suspects my friend. I can't believe I didn't see your name for best commenter as well as Marisacats.

I agree though, we have the votes that really count, all of ours.

although I only stepped back and let the doctors speak for themselves, and for women everywhere.

But when I went over to Wampum to check out the lists, I was surprised to see that some kind soul did nominate me in the Commenter category. ¡Viva Our Word!

i was just looking at the best commenter page and marisacat is also nominated. they've mispelled her name though and only done

marisac

but if you follow the hyperlink its a typo. the hyperlink googles marisacat.

hey, can i vote three times in that category? i really need too.

Well its my fault Moiv and Marisacat aren't nominated. I'm so scatterbrained it's just now occuring to me that I've gone and dropped the ball again. I would have nominated both of them but I'm such a klutz.

I'll have to set another alarm in my phone! I didn't even know I was either and I deserve a nom less than either one of them.

Bay, how does the nomination process work? You're simply wrong about your nomination. The hard work you do each and every week is so important, it gets sent to many across the country.

It was a pleasure and an honor to cast my vote for you. I'm just thrilled I had the opportunity to.
