I just want everyone to see this. Do you wonder if anyone is listening to what you say? Well, I do, I'm sure you must. Witness this:

Ihmiset hetkessä

Olen nyt lukenut lähes koko päivän niitä eilen mainitsemiani kirjoja. Lukukinkereiden päätteeksi kaadan itselleni limsaa, lämmitän mikrossa pari samosaa ja katson, mitä blogiavaruus osaa opettaa minulle tänään ennen kuin lähden ensin ostarille syömään Danin kanssa, josta sitten jatkan kirjastoon ja lopuksi menen katsomaan Don Ricklesiä.

Aluksi kirjoitukset Monday Afternoon at the Welfare Office" ja "Safety Net" todistavat väkevästi alaluokassa olevien tai sinne putoamisvaarassa olevien naisihmisten elämästä. Kirjoitus "Ladyfest Brighton: An incident" kertoo tapauksesta, jossa brittiläinen patriarkaatti sorti naisia mitä törkeimmällä tavalla.

Way to go Kactus! You're an international star!

Well I believe (99%) the language is Finnish. But getting any type of translation on the internet is going to be next to impossible for someone completely unfamilar with the language. Here's why.

How Finnish words are put together

A feature which often amazes a foreigner in Finnish is the length of words. This is because Finnish is typologically an agglutinative language in which grammatical markers and endings are joined to a word stem. An example of this is the one-word question: Taloissanikinko? '[Do you mean] in my houses, too?' The word can be analysed as follows:

talo / i / ssa / ni / kin / ko

The root word is talo ' house'. The i is a plural marker, ssa is an inessive case ending which in this instance corresponds to the English preposition in. ni is a first person singular possessive suffix the meaning 'my'. kin is an enclitic particle which means 'also, too' and ko is a particle indicating that a question is being asked.

So there's quite a bit of blur in finnish between a word and a sentence, as you can see by taloissanikinko which is also a sentence composed of shorter word and some particles! and yet its a word! no, it's a sentence! no! its both!

Impossible to look up in an online dictionary too, if you cannot spot the root.

Some translation is possible online, but not much. how much? about this much.

Initially kirjoitukset Monday Afternoon at the Welfare Office " and Safety Net " demonstrates strong alaluokassa olevien or thither putoamisvaarassa olevien naisihmisten existence. Text Ladyfest Brighton : To incident " describe uneventful , where british patriarkaatti oppress woman what törkeimmällä tavalla.

oh, i know one more word. patriarkaatti is a variant of the word stem patriarka which indeed means (some form of) patriarch.

since we're now tracking back to the blog that posted it, maybe some kind Finn will come along and enlighten us further.
