Witch Hunts and Whiners

words by aldahlia posted March 5, 2006 - 12:01am

There's an interesting conversation happening at Hugo Schwyzer's blog about the responsibilities of men that work with young women.

I happen to like Hugo's response to the issue, but the topic itself is very quick to fuck with my head. I happen to think that the whole "false allegations" thing is blown way out of proportion. Almost every man out there "knows a guy" that was "falsely" accused of rape or sexual assault--like women cry "rape" at the drop of a hat. However, in all the cases I've personally known where the man cries "false," I know for a fact that the guy is guilty.

Life and Medicine

Where's the Schaivo style circus at this time around?

I'm just so completely disgusted.

I just wish that the "life" people would at least be honest about what they want. 'Cause the real message is that it's important for rich white people to 'live' and the everyone else can just go to hell.

My Family and Tribes

words by aldahlia posted November 24, 2005 - 8:36pm

Something stuck with me in Scribe s post--

They told of old days and old ways and ancestors. They laughed long and uproariously at the ways of the whites. They had a rich shared history, a culture still revered and honored in so many ways. They had each other. They had tribe. I did not.

I don t happen to be a White Woman that feels I lack a tribe, but I know that's kind of strange for a white girl. We're, as my mother puts it--"Heinz 57 Mutts." I know my family history. We ve got our own bits and pieces and extras and that s just how it is--we're not soley identified with any nationality, other than American. I'm English and Cherokee on Mom's side, and Eastern European and Comanche on my dad's side. We do not really do the "Nuclear" verson of family. I can toss around the names of people that died 20 or 100 or (in some branches) 200 years before I was born as if they re still around.

Normal

words by aldahlia posted October 27, 2005 - 1:45pm

I found this.

Actually, being normal has absolutely nothing in the world to do with having a boyfriend/girlfriend. Being normal has everything to do with following Jesus Christ and living in total obedience to Him.

I'm assuming that this assertion doesn't apply to homosexuals. Then it has everything to do with having a boyfriend/girlfriend.

Further:

Someone once described loneliness as 'sensing the spirit of one you love pulling away from you.'?

You may be wondering, But I'm a Christian! Why am I lonely? Christians aren't ever supposed to get lonely . . . are they?
